Market Discovery Tour

Experience a fun, relaxed tour through the historic Queen Victoria Market. On this one-hour guided tour, students will explore the vast array of fresh produce whilst discovering Melbourne's multicultural history and enjoying the hustle and bustle of the Market.

Students will have fun meeting our vibrant traders and hearing their stories whilst our friendly guides explain seasonality, provenance and the pleasure of fresh, healthy food.

This 1-hour guided tour includes a gelato from Geloso Gelateria. The gelati is made onsite and is egg and gluten free with dairy free options available.

Cost: $15 per student (minimum charge $150)

I took my student's and another class (Year 1 and 2) on an educational tour of the Vic Markets. There were 4 guides to accommodate the two classes making it a truly tailored experience that the students thoroughly enjoyed. The purpose of this excursion was for the students Inquiry unit to find out how food is distributed and learn about natural food. This was the perfect excursion for that. They were then able to purchase their lunch and get a treat from all of the wonderful shops and stalls there. They also had a fresh juice at the end of the tour. I highly recommend the market for a school excursion. The whole process of booking was also very easy. I can't wait to go back again, I forgot how many wonderful things there were there.
